Meet Our Practitioners
Tanuja Jagernauth :: Acupuncture

INTRODUCTIONS, PLEASE!
Tanuja received her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the most prominent colleges training Oriental Medicine practitioners in the U.S. today; she received extensive training in acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and other accessory techniques used to treat disorders from a wide variety of disease causes. She is currently working toward American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) certification at Zen Shiatsu in Evanston, Illinois.
Prior to receiving her MSTOM, Tanuja worked for the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) as a sexual violence prevention educator and as a crisis counselor on the Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline. Her background in youth work and crisis counseling, coupled with her Traditional Oriental Medicine education, lends her insight and sensitivity as she works with her patients, especially when they are survivors of abuse. Tanuja’s approach to healing is compassionate, empowering, and trauma-informed.

-Endometriosis, Menopause, PMS, Menstrual Disorders, Infertility
-Colds and Flu, TMJ, Asthma

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
The diagnostic process in traditional Chinese medicine involves classical procedures of observation, listening, and questioning. It also includes testing the quality of pulses, appearance of the tongue, and sensitivity of body parts.
Once your condition has been evaluated in terms of traditional Chinese medicine, Tanuja will review your specific concerns and develop a treatment plan. This may include acupuncture, remedial massage, cupping, herbal medicine, and nutrition/dietary interventions.
The duration of each session is one hour. Depending on the condition you may need one or two visits per week. You will be regularly re-evaluated to determine the total number of treatments needed.
