Some years ago, when Dr. Edelberg was editing an encyclopedia of alternative medicine for the American Medical Association (which they decided not to publish because the topic was too controversial!), he was astonished to discover the wide variety of therapies available in America.

A few were familiar. After all, there are 65,000 chiropractors and 15,000 acupuncturists. But Aston Patterning? Anthroposophical Medicine? These library entries will give you an overview of what’s out there, well beyond the services available at WholeHealth Chicago.

When we know of a good practitioner certified in a therapy we don’t provide, we’ve listed his or her office and phone number. For site visitors outside the Chicago area, be aware that virtually each of the therapies maintains a website with a practitioner directory. We’ve added the website if we know it, otherwise use your trusty search engine.
