SHOULD I SEE HER? YES,

A comprehensive integrated assessment will be conducted and based on the nature of the problem, the type of treatment will be mutually decided upon. I have an integrative, eclectic therapeutic approach. Often, Cognitive Behavior Therapy is utilized with certain individuals and conditions but for others, an intrapsychic approach may be required to explore deeper internal mediating processes that may impact behavior.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an action-oriented form of psychosocial therapy that assumes that maladaptive or faulty thinking patterns cause maladaptive behavior and “negative “emotions. The treatment focuses on changing an individual’s thoughts (cognitive patterns) in order to change his or her emotional state. CBT is a short term, action oriented therapy effort whose goal is to help you learn a new way of reacting.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THERAPY?

A comprehensive integrated assessment and based on the nature of the problem, the type of treatment will be mutually decided upon

A collaborative, action-oriented therapy effort developed to meet the needs of the individual

A therapist that is emotionally available and has the ability to resonate with the disquieting feelings of the individual with genuine concern

An ability to work with members of your family or significant others on relationship issues if indicated.

Empowerment. You should be able to learn how to overcome emotional, cognitive and distress, set healthy goals, interact with harmony with others and learn how to lead a fulfilling life.

An integrated team approach with others at WholeHealth Chicago, as needed.
