Physical therapy

Physical therapy helps people develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout life. Physical therapists (PTs) provide services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease, or environmental factors.

As a discipline, physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential to encourage physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. It involves the close interaction of the (PT) and his or her patients/clients, other health professionals, families, caregivers, and communities. The therapy process includes assessing movement potential and agreeing on therapy goals. Physical therapy is performed by either a PT or an assistant working under the direction of a PT.

Our Services

At WholeHealth Chicago we provide our patients with access to providers who use an integrative medicine/functional medicine model. Functional medicine is a real paradigm shift in the practice of health care. Instead of the traditional disease-centered focus of conventional medicine, functional medicine practitioners apply a patient-centered approach that addresses the whole person--not simply isolated symptoms.
